Travis Kelce’s representatives have cleared up any confusion over what appeared to be a public relations strategy for the NFL star should he break up with singer Taylor Swift.
Full Scope PR is a Los Angeles-based firm that represents the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, along with other celebrities including Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Colby.
It denied the existence of such a strategy, telling the U.K. publication Daily Mail—which first published photos from social media of the alleged plan—that the paperwork was “entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency.”
The outlet claimed the photos came from a Reddit post which is now believed to have been deleted.
“We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,” said a Full Scope PR representative.
The company’s denial came after a Daily Mail report showed photos of the alleged PR strategy featuring the Full Scope PR logo.
Newsweek contacted Swift’s representatives by email for comment and spoke to Kelce’s representatives by phone.
Photos posted by the Daily Mail showed paperwork that was labeled, “comprehensive media plan for Travis Kelce’s public relations following breakup with Taylor Swift.” It also read that the planned date of the breakout announcement would happen on September 28.
The paperwork included a template for the statement that read: “Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time.
“They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Kelce and Swift went public with their relationship in September 2023 when she attended one of his games with the Chiefs.
Kelce has previously described the “Bad Blood” singer as “hilarious” and “a genius” and said they are compatible in many ways.
“Obviously, I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them… I’ve never dealt with it,” Kelce told The Wall Street Journal in November 2023. “But, at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it… The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”
