Cowboys Star Wanted to Draft Giants’ Malik Nabers in Fantasy Football

The New York Giants season may have some hope yet after a rough start. Week 1 saw them get blown out by the Minnesota Vikings, only for them to lose a close divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders in Week 2.

However, in Week 3, New York put it all together and came away with a big victory on the road against the Cleveland Browns. The team came together to find a way to find and their season looks more promising than ever.

Much of this success has been on the back of rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers. Nabers has given the Giants a legitimate No. 1 option as a wide receiver, which has worried defenses.

Through three games, Nabers has racked up 23 catches, and 271 receiving yards, and is tied for a league-high, three touchdown grabs. He has made an instant impact and has the Giants excited for his future.

Before the season started, many believed Nabers should have been selected as the first wideout off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, that title went to Marrison Harrison Jr. of the Arizona Cardinals, another special talent.

Even rivals noticed his talent before the start of the season, Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons revealed that he wanted to take Nabers for his fantasy football team. However, he was taken right before his selection, a feeling that most fantasy players know all too well.

“Someone took him right before my pick,” Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons said Tuesday, via the Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins. “He’s another guy, he’s legit. I’m excited to play against him.”

After a strong performance to help the Giants take down Cleveland, Nabers reflected on his great start.

“I’m having a lot of fun, a dream come true,” Nabers said Tuesday, via team transcript.

So far, Nabers has exceeded the high expectations that he had entering the league. There is still a long way to go this season and in his career but the former LSU product has looked like he belongs in the NFL.

The Giants will host the Cowboys on Thursday Night Football tonight, which should be a good divisional matchup. However, Nabers downplayed the significance of the longtime rivalry

“It’s a regular game,” he said of playing on Thursday night. It’s football,” he said. “A game is a game. Every time I go out there, a game is a game. No matter what day it is, a game is a game.”

Both teams will be looking to even their record at 2-2, giving fans some early high-stakes football action.
