Buccaneers Stars Vita Vea, Mike Evans Active vs. Ravens

Defensive tackle Vita Vea and wide receiver Mike Evans, two of the Buccaneers’ top stars, will play on “Monday Night Football” against the Ravens.

Vea was questionable after being added to the injury report Saturday with a hamstring injury. The massive 6-foot-4, 347-pounder is a run-stopping force who can also bully blockers into the backfield and will be the toughest test yet this season for Ravens Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum.

Evans has long been one of the league’s top receivers, with 10 straight seasons over 1,000 receiving yards to start his career. Evans (hamstring) didn’t practice on Thursday or Friday but was off the injury report Saturday. He and Chris Godwin are one of the NFL’s top wide receiver duos.

Bucs running back Rachaad White, who was questionable with a foot injury, is also active.

The Ravens’ inactives are:

With wide receiver/returner Deonte Harty placed on injured reserve this week, rookie wide receiver Devontez Walker is active for his first game. Rookie cornerback T.J. Tampa will also play.

Running back Chris Collier was moved up to the 53-man roster with rookie running back Ali (ankle) out, and inside linebacker Kirstian Welch was activated from the practice squad with Harrison (groin) sidelined.

Game Inactives | Week 6 Titans vs Colts

The Tennessee Titans (1-3) return from their bye this week to host the Indianapolis Colts (2-3) in their first AFC South clash of 2024. Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (69,143) is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Two second-year quarterbacks—Tennessee’s Will Levis and Indianapolis’ Anthony Richardson—could potentially meet for the first time in their professional careers this week. However, Levis did not finish the Titans’ most recent game at Miami due to an injury, and Richardson was inactive last week at Jacksonville with an injury of his own. In 2023, Richardson’s rookie season came to a premature end due to an injury in a game against the Titans (Oct. 8), three weeks before Levis made his NFL debut.

This week also marks the Titans’ annual Crucial Catch game. Each NFL team designates one game each season to raise awareness for early cancer detection and risk reduction. Sunday at Nissan Stadium will feature on-field and in-stadium Crucial Catch elements and also present opportunities to honor survivors and those currently battling cancer.

The Eagles are in Tampa Bay getting ready for a 1 PM kickoff against the Buccaneers in a rematch of the 2023 Wild Card round.

The Eagles announced on Sunday morning that All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson has been downgraded to out with a concussion. He suffered the injury in last Sunday’s win over the Saints. Fred Johnson will start at right tackle today against the Buccaneers.

Along with Lane Johnson, the Eagles will be without both of their star wide receivers in A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion). Brown will miss his third straight game despite returning to practice as a limited participant on Friday. Smith was not able to clear concussion protocol after taking a hit to the head in the win over the Saints last Sunday.

With Brown and Smith out, and Britain Covey on Injured Reserve due to a shoulder injury, the Eagles elevated receivers Parris Campbell and John Ross from the practice squad. Campbell had two catches for 13 yards after being brought up for the Saints game. Ross returned to the Eagles on September 24 and will make his debut today.

Guard/tackle Darian Kinnard is active and will make his Eagles debut after signing with the team in February.

Broncos announce inactives for Week 1 game vs. Seahawks

SEATTLE — The Broncos have announced their list of inactive players for their Week 1 game against the Seahawks.

The following players are inactive for Denver: Quarterback Zach Wilson (emergency third quarterback), wide receiver Troy Franklin, running back Blake Watson, cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, tackle Frank Crum, tight end Lucas Krull and defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike.

Under NFL rules, teams are permitted to designate a quarterback on their active roster as the emergency third quarterback. Wilson will dress for the game but will be permitted to play only if quarterbacks Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham suffer injuries.

Four of the Broncos’ six rookie draft picks on their 53-man roster are active for Sunday’s game, as Nix, outside linebacker Jonah Elliss, running back Audric Estime and wide receiver Devaughn Vele are active in Week 1 of their rookie careers.

Denver previously elevated fullback Mike Burton and wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey from the practice squad, and both players are active for the game.

The Broncos did not rule any players out for the game due to injury.

Seahawks vs. Broncos 2024 – Inactives

Tyler Lockett, who is kicking off his 10th season in the NFL, will be active for Sunday season opener against the Denver Broncos.

Lockett was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report due to a thigh injury, though Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said he expected the veteran receiver to play.

The Seahawks will be without two players due to injury, outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and tight end Pharaoh Brown, who were both ruled out on Friday.

Also active is safety Marquise Blair, who was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday. Sunday’s game will mark the former second-round pick’s first appearance for the Seahawks since Week 7 of the 2021 season. Cornerback Artie Burns, who was also elevated from the practice squad, is inactive.

Of the Seahawks’ five healthy scratches, three are offensive linemen, which doesn’t come as a surprise given that they kept 11 offensive linemen, a higher than usual number, on their 53-man roster.
